About this trip
The 2 Days Toubkal Base Camp Trek is the ideal short escape for travellers who want to experience the grandeur of the High Atlas without the demanding summit climb. Beginning in the trailhead village of Imlil, you follow the classic mule track past Berber hamlets and the shrine of Sidi Chhamharouch up to the Neltner Refuge (3,207 m), the base camp for all Toubkal expeditions. Along the way your English-speaking Berber guide shares the history and culture of the mountain communities, and a cook prepares hearty meals. You sleep one night at the refuge with unforgettable views of the summit cirque, then descend the next day back to Imlil. No technical climbing, no extreme altitude — just a rewarding taste of North Africa's highest mountains.
