About this trip
A day trip from Marrakech to the Ouzoud waterfalls, 110 meters high. We descend through olive terraces to the basin, a boat ride near the cascade, then a walking trail through the valley with a chance to spot Barbary macaques.
Day-by-day itinerary
Marrakech – Ouzoud Falls – Basin – Valley Walk – Marrakech
Depart Marrakech early and drive about 2.5 hours through olive groves and the Atlas foothills to the village of Ouzoud. Walk down a series of switchback paths past the three tiers of the Ouzoud waterfalls, which plunge 110 metres into a limestone gorge. Take a short boat ride to the base of the cascade for a close-up view and a chance to feel the spray. Continue along the Valley of the Slaves (Oued el Abid) trail, keeping an eye out for the wild Barbary macaques that live in the surrounding cedar trees. Lunch on a terrace overlooking the falls, then climb back up and transfer to Marrakech, arriving in the late afternoon.
