Souk Semmarine – Spice & Dyers Alleys – Street Food – Jemaa el-Fnaa

Marrakech medina at 466 m Approx. 3 km

Meet your Marrakchi guide at Bab Doukkala in the late afternoon and enter the medina through Souk Semmarine, the main market artery. Wind through the alleys of the spice merchants (Souk el Attarin), the dyers' souk with its hanging skeins of coloured wool, and the blacksmiths' quarter. Along the way, stop at six tasting stations for Marrakchi street food: harira soup, msemen flatbread, grilled merguez, snail broth, olives, and fresh orange. Emerge into Jemaa el-Fnaa as the square comes alive with storytellers, snake charmers, and Gnawa musicians. End with mint tea on a rooftop terrace overlooking the floodlit Koutoubia minaret.
