About this trip
A five-day journey through the lush Azaden Valley, one of the greenest corners of the High Atlas. We trek between traditional Berber villages, meet local families, and hike to the Golden waterfalls hidden in the mountains. Each night is spent in a village guesthouse with home-cooked Amazigh meals. The trip includes transport from Marrakech, a certified mountain guide, full-board meals, and mule support for luggage.
Day-by-day itinerary
Marrakech – Imlil – Tizi Mzik – Tizi Oussem
Drive from Marrakech to Imlil and begin the trek over the Tizi Mzik pass (2,489 m). Descend into the Azzaden valley to the village of Tizi Oussem (1,900 m), where you spend the first night in a Berber guesthouse with a home-cooked dinner.

Tizi Oussem – Azzaden Valley – Assaka
Follow the Azzaden river downstream through walnut groves and terraced fields, passing several small Berber villages. Stop for lunch by a spring, then continue to the village of Assaka, where you overnight in a family guesthouse.

Assaka – Azaden Valley – Golden Waterfalls
Trek deeper into the green Azaden Valley, one of the lushest corners of the High Atlas. Hike up a side gorge to the hidden Golden Waterfalls, a series of cascades tumbling over ochre rock. Picnic lunch beside the falls, then return to the valley and overnight in a village guesthouse.

Azaden Valley – Tizi n'Tagharhourt – Imlil
Climb out of the Azaden Valley over the Tizi n'Tagharhourt pass (2,300 m), with views back over the valleys you have crossed. Descend the far side and rejoin the main trail into Imlil. Overnight in a guesthouse in Imlil.

Imlil – Marrakech
After breakfast, transfer by vehicle back to Marrakech, arriving around midday. Drop-off at your accommodation.
